under the rules, federal employees would reject licenses or identity cards that don't comply, which could curb americans' access to airplanes, trains, national parks, federal courthouses and other areas controlled by the federal government.
the bill was approved by a 261-161 vote.

I believe the Bill of Rights applies to all US Citizens. The 14th amendment ( http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/data/constitution/amendment14/ ) was added during Reconstruction,to define citizenship, and confer citizenship on the former slaves. In sec.1 the amendment defines a US Citizen (former negro slaves being given full citizenship), sec.2 affirms the rite to vote to all males (specifically to insure negro enfranchisement), sec.3 keeps former Confederate officials out of the Federal government, sec.4 forbids the Federal gvt. paying any debt owed by the Confederacy. Sec.5 gives Congress the power to enforce this amendment by appropriate legislation.
Ironically, it was not untill 1920 that women were granted full citizenship by allowing them the vote. Even more ironic, Native Americans were not declared full citizens untill 1924.

Refusing magazines/books from JW relatives
by JustTickledPink inrecently my mother dropped in on us and in front of other people, very nicely handed me some trinkets aka dust collectors for my house and some wts magazines.
the way she handed everything to me at once i just held out my hands and took it all.. i threw the magazines away immediately, i consider them trash and don't even want them around... but then decided exactly what i was going to do.
i am going to buy a yard sale cross or virgin mary statue and give it to my mom.. i specifically told her i don't want any publications and she slipped them in anyways.... so, on that note, she hates any religious icons, i am going to give her something that she doesn't want.

And by the way... those garage sale trinkets and dishes she dropped off for me... her gift??? Well, she asked me to pay her $27 for them because she went out of her way and picked me some things up. So I actually was nice enough to pay her for them, even though everything wasn't my style or taste. That's how she gives me gifts, recycled garage sale or thrift shop finds that she charges me for. Maybe that is why I felt a bit snarky about the whole thing.
Tickled Pink, $27 for garage sale crap? Could that be her way of getting a 'donation' for the wonderful spiritual feast she delivered?
Off topic, but we have wonderful witness relatives who operate in the same gift-grift style. Is this a standard operating procedure for witnesses, or are we just related to people who have elevated donation solicitation to an art?

Kenneson, I've heard Mamou is great! Real people, family oriented, good food and music. Not a tourist trap like New Orleans. I know it is silly, but I enjoy being on the curb elbow to elbow fighting for five dollar a gross trinkets.
